Daily Travel Photo: Volcano Santiaguito Eruption
This is the Santiaguito Crater as it is erupting. It’s a lava dome that is considered part of the larger Volcano Santa Maria, and it’s been erupting every few hours for the past 80 years. I camped on the Santiaguito Crater last week… definitely the craziest experience I’ve ever had!

I kind of felt like that myself, after eating too much homemade salsa. Your right, erupting can be an experience, isn’t that right Zsa Zsa? How about some wildlife pictures? Those ones from Miami are nice, but not currently in season. There must be some kind of poison animal, bug or serpent to take a picture of.
I saw some amazing blue parrot-looking birds on this hike, but my 17-55mm camera lens limits my ability to get close-up shots of animals. I have to be right next to them.
Another great shot Matt. Makes me glad I will be back in Guatemala January 6, and beyond. I want to thank you for inspiring me. I have been traveling for most of the last two point five years and photographing as I go. Your blog has ispired me to learn to travel blog and I have been taking the Travel Blog Success course through your link. As I get ready to head out for another 4+ months and hopefully make it all the way to Patagonia this time, I will be blogging as I go. Happy trails, mucho gusto mi amigo and pura vida!
Glad I could help! I look forward to following your trip.
