Muy Rico! Pescado con Aguacate

This tasty meal is called Pescado con Aguacate y Frijoles Rojos. Fried fish with avocado and red beans. It was my lunch in Zona 10 of Guatemala City, at a restaurant called El Club. The mug on the left is filled with a salty rice soup, and the basket is filled with hand-made tortillas. Total cost: $25 Quetzals ($3.12 US)

Peaceful, but with an edgy overtone. There are men with guns guarding shopping plazas, gas stations, and homes every few blocks. It’s not safe to travel in certain areas, other areas are fine. Just like any major city. I carry my camera in a plastic shopping bag when I’m out.

    Matthew,
You be careful down there. Stay in the peaceful areas. NO exploring with danger!
