Daily Travel Photo: Lake Atitlan Water Taxi
This is one of the many water taxis on Lake Atitlan in Guatemala. The Spanish name for it is a Launcha. I used them many times to get from town to town while I was staying on the lake. It costs $1.50 – $2.50 US for a ride. The lake can get pretty rough sometimes, making it a bit bumpy & wet. But the volcanoes in the background make for a very scenic ride.

I loved Atitlan!
Happy New Year!!!
Guatemala was beautiful, look forward to Honduras.
There’s still more Guatemala to come first! Maintaining a travel blog is hard work, and I’m backed up.
I myself am backed up. I think it’s the home cooking. I can see by the looks of the water, mountains, and jungle it’s a tough life you live. I’ll be sure to toast you tonight as a snow storm arrives and I have to shovel tomorrow. “A toast to MJK, may he not fall into an emerald green pool after drinking tequila and smoking Honduras cigars.” Did I mention,I don’t have any Honduras cigars?
Lovely photo-forget the Honduras cigars-maybe some tequila though. That lake looks like it could get rough.
