One of the many red taxis you can find in San José, the capital city of Costa Rica. Three different drivers here attempted to scam me by turning off their meters. This particular taxi happens to be outside the infamous Coca Cola Bus Terminal, a notoriously dangerous neighborhood. In fact after I took the shot, this man told me to hide my camera so I wouldn’t get robbed… ![]()

Thanks for the impending nightmares tonight, pal. Almost left that scammer cabby a steamy, brown present in the back seat I was so scared. Defense mechanism, I guess. But that would have been one long, stinky bus ride to Monteverde… for both of us. Oh, Coca Cola. You still make the hairs on my back stand at attention.

I didn’t know crime was that big of an issue in SJ. I felt so safe there!
I think it’s just certain areas, and mainly at night.
