FARC Guerrilla Wanted Posters

Can you see this image hanging on your wall?Buy a Print

If the repeated military checkpoints don’t clue you in, you’ll certainly understand that you’ve entered the notorious Darien Gap when you start to see these Wild-West style wanted posters for Colombian FARC guerrillas around jungle villages.

Gilberto Torres Muñetón aka “El Becerro” (The Calf) is a Commander of the 57th Front of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia. He controls drug trafficking, arms smuggling, and kidnappings along the border between Panama & Colombia. I saw posters like these all over the place as I traveled through the Darien Gap…

The whole trip was crazy. This was just icing on the cake. Many stories & photos to share from my trip into the Darien Gap coming soon… ;)

It seems Gilberto is responsible for the masacre of 80 people in the town of Bojayá. He also managed to survive a large-scale bombing attack by the Colombian military just last year along the Panamanian border.
