Grand Cenote in Tulum

Cool Caves of Grand Cenote

Welcome to Grand Cenote, a few kilometers outside of Tulum, Mexico. It consists of two open sky sinkholes that are connected to each other with a cave. There are caves all over the place here, and scuba divers go diving in it too. You can find fish, underwater flowers, and cave birds feeding their babys in the nests on the wall.

Here I am enjoying the vegetation on the bottom. Those are fish swimming in front of my face.

Oh my god is that beautiful. I had never heard of a cenote before but are they ever gorgeous from your pictures. Those are magazine worthy pictures. You need to submit a few to National Geographic when you get back. We are heading down to Mexico in October and I will be investigating if there are any cenotes in our area for us to go to. Sadly, yes, we will be staying in the cushy hotel. = )

Everyone travels in their own way! :) You should definitely try to swim in a Cenote while you’re there, a unique experience…
