Daily Travel Photo: Hacienda Arches

Hacienda Yaxcopoil in Yucatan

Yucatan's Hacienda Yaxcopoil

These are the front arches of Hacienda Yaxcopoil in the state of Yucatan, Mexico. The estate was built in the 17th century. A hacienda is a plantation, the Spanish used this one to grow and process Henequen, a plant whose fibers are used to make rope and twine. After visiting the Hacienda, I decided to Hitchhike to Muna the next day.
