Daily Travel Photo: Fly Poison Mushroom
I found this cool looking mushroom while hiking in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. It’s called the American Eastern Yellow Fly Agaric. Flies are attracted to it, take a taste, then drop dead. The chemicals it contains are used for shamanic rituals in some parts of the world.

Pretty!!
So cute yet so evil:p
The effects don’t last long either. It was common amongst those seeking shamans that they would drink the shaman’s urine as it was passed through the body so quickly; and you thought we invented recycling.
What a great photograph. The mushroom is very pretty!
Thanks Cheryl!
